The Brotherhood of St. Andrew - aka 'BOSA' - donated funds for the floor. These are the guys who meet for breakfast on Saturday mornings to shoot the breeze and generally offer support to each other - and a couple of times every year, they get together to (drink beer and) smoke turkeys and hams for us to order on holidays. They are handy folks to have around.
The little white things in between the pieces are spacers to keep them even and save space for the grout. Even though it looks like wood, these are actually tiles. For some reason, I didn't realize this until I bumped a loose one - and it went CLANK!
Here is the last bit, drying out. The darker part is drying.
