During...

Right after an opening, prayer, part of the crew set to work pulling up the carpet. "Team Mary Magdalen" of Deanna and Tracie met Fr. Vernon and Lou in the middle prying off the metal strip - almost like building a railroad...

We cut strips of carpet, rolled them up, then the carpet padding underneath and tossed it all in a trailer outside:

Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, it's snowing...

or maybe that's Bill sawing through drywall.

Rick does not need no stinkin' tools ... he'll tear the wall apart with his hands!

Then, it was time to start taking the stage out.
With all that dust, it's a good thing Wayne was wearing a mask.

Okay, everybody take a break...

And now - back to work!

Fr. Vernon offers a blessing in the sacristy.

More photos in the next post!

Before...

Hooray! We have a building permit - and look at that line for Contractor - thanks, Bill!

Below are some photos from "before" Demo Day really got into full swing...

The picture below is taken from the middle of the room, looking toward the front door. The door on the right goes into a small entryway and out to the parking lot. The door on the left goes into what was a small classroom, and that entire wall would have to come down, along with the little sound booth in the middle of the photo.

This photo is taken looking toward the back door, and the small room on the left is the bathroom. All the carpet and stage would have to go.

The crew starts to arrive...
And after a prayer, folks got right to work. Check out the "During..." photos!

Here are some more photos Katie took, also, posted on the Diocesan Flickr page

Demo Day

A note from Bill -

"Thank you to everyone who participated in making Demo Day a success
We accomplished everything that we hoped for demolition that day."

We will post pictures soon!
